Philanthropy
Philanthropy is at the heart of Alpha Chi Omega. Nationwide, members come together to support our national philanthropy benefiting domestic violence awareness. Through the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and yearly philanthropic events, we pledge to shed light on domestic violence awareness, education and prevention.
Each Alpha Chi Omega holds a special place in her heart for victims of domestic violence, as well as a motivation to help rid our community of this problem. Within Dallas, we work closely with Genesis Women’s Shelter. Each dollar, diaper, or article of donated clothing makes an everlasting difference in the lives of these victims.
SMU Alpha Chi Omega believes the silence needs to be broken about domestic violence and we want you to join us in being a voice for those in need.
Alpha Chi Couture
Our largest and most charitable event is Alpha Chi Couture, established in 2007.
Funds raised help support the Genesis Women’s Shelter, the One Love Foundation, and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, benefiting domestic violence awareness. Each year, members and alumnae come together to host the Couture fashion show and silent auction as a way to get the entire SMU and Dallas community involved with the cause. We are so proud of the efforts being made to bring awareness and hope to the victims of domestic violence in our community and beyond!

Paint Wars
In April, Alpha Chi Omega hosts our newest annual philanthropy event, Paint Wars! Paint Wars brings our sisters, members of the Interfraternity Council, and other members of the SMU community together for a dodgeball-style tournament where all proceeds go to our local beneficiaries. It is one of our favorite events of the year and the best way to wrap up Spring semester!
With Love from Alpha Chi
Each year, Alpha Chi Omega hosts With Love from Alpha Chi, where members of the SMU community join us to make flower bouquets and spread healthy love at the Alpha Chi house. All proceeds from this event go to buying gifts and other necessities for the women and families at the Genesis Women’s Shelter. This past year, we raised over $1,300 put towards providing coats, hygiene products, and gift cards for victims of domestic violence.
